A meeting table has two jobs. It has to work for the people around it. And it has to hide the technology that makes the meeting work. UNIFI Meeting tables do both. The secret is the pedestal. It is built on an aluminum chassis, with lift-off panels on both sides. Cables run from the floor up to the tabletop through an open interior. The pedestal is vented for passive cooling, and it has room for rack-mounted equipment and cable retractor systems. Start with the shape. There are three standard shapes. A rectangle gives you the most seats for the length. A trapezoid tapers at one end, so everyone has a clear sightline to the screen. A boat shape curves along its sides, which also helps sightlines. The standard range runs from six to sixteen feet long. Rectangles and boats come four or five feet wide. The trapezoid comes five feet wide. The boat starts at eight feet. As a guide, a ten-foot rectangle or boat seats eight to ten people. A ten-foot trapezoid seats seven. Many published sizes have their own specification sheet and drawing. When you pick a size, check that the linked documents match it and check the drawing against the room. Some document links still need Salamander's correction. If the room needs a size outside the standard range, ask Salamander for an engineering review. Salamander confirms the tabletop sections, the support layout and delivery for any custom size. Next, plan the connections. Options include a cable cubby in the tabletop, charging ports under the surface, power ports on the pedestal, and custom cut-ins for devices the customer supplies. Inside the pedestal, you can plan for three rack units of vertical equipment and cooling. These are options. List what the room needs, and Salamander confirms positions and fit in the quote. Now the look. There are seven standard tabletop laminates. Four are ultra matte, fingerprint-resistant surfaces: Charcoal Velvet, Silver Velvet, Bianco Kos and Nero Ingo. Three are satin laminates: Carbon Mesh, Linen and Fashion Gray. The pedestal comes in seven finishes, from white laminate to real wood veneers, with black legs and toe-kick. Screens never show color exactly, so order physical samples. Here is a typical request. A video room for eight to ten people. The team picks a four-by-ten-foot boat, Nero Ingo on top, a Medium Walnut pedestal, a cable cubby and under-surface charging. That size has a published spec sheet and drawing. Salamander Select puts links to both in the request. Salamander confirms the final model, pricing and lead time in the quote. Shape. Size. Technology. Finish. Use Salamander Select to build the request, check the drawing links and send it to your Salamander contact.
